Everything you might want to know about how Fledgely works, how we handle your family's data, and getting set up.
‹ Back to homeOn Fledgely's own secure cloud server — exactly like every app you use stores your data on its own servers. Each child's information is tied to your parent account and is visible only to you. It is never shared with other people, advertisers, or third parties.
Yes — the same way 99% of modern apps protect your data. Everything sent between the phones and our server is encrypted over HTTPS (the same encryption your bank and messaging apps use), and your password is stored scrambled, never as plain text.
Fledgely also goes a step further than most: the Live View screen is never saved anywhere — you see it live, in real time, and then it's gone.
This is the standard way almost every modern app is built — social media, messaging, banking apps all store data on their own servers and encrypt it in transit. Fledgely follows the same proven practices, with extra privacy on top (no saved screen recordings, no selling your data).
Never. Your data is used for one purpose only: to keep your child safe and to show that information to you, the parent. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with advertisers or any third party.
No. Live View shows you what's on your child's screen in the moment, in real time. Those images are never stored on the phone or our server — once you've seen them, they're gone.
Yes. You're always in control — you can remove a child or delete your account and its data whenever you want.
Yes. Fledgely is fully transparent and consent-based — your child knows it's on, Live View included, and a permanent notification always shows it's running. It's built to help you guide them together, never to spy on them.
Live View lets you see what your child is doing on their phone at that moment. To respect Android's privacy rules and your child's battery, it refreshes their screen about once a second — it isn't a full-HD video stream, but you'll clearly see what's on screen, live. A notification always shows on the child's phone while it's on.
With your consent, it filters out adult websites and forces "safe search" across the phone — and it also blocks the common tricks browsers use to get around filters. The goal is simple: porn sites just don't open.
Two quick steps: first install the Parent app on your phone and sign in. Then tap "Add child" — it shows a QR code. On your child's phone, install the Child app and scan that code to connect. The whole thing takes about 5 minutes. There's a step-by-step guide at fledgely.app/help.
During testing, yes — each phone installs from Google Play using its own Google account, so both the account on your phone and the account on your child's phone need to be on the tester list. If they're different, just send us both email addresses and we'll add them.
This almost always means that phone's Google account hasn't been added as a tester yet, or hasn't accepted the invite. Make sure you've opened the invite link and tapped to join on that specific device, then give Google Play a few minutes. Still stuck? Message us and we'll sort it out.
Your first child is completely free — every feature, no time limit, no card needed. Each additional child is $5/month (up to 4 children per family): so 2 kids is $5/mo, 3 kids $10/mo, 4 kids $15/mo. Add or remove children anytime and your bill adjusts.
There's no trial to worry about — your first child is simply free, forever. You only pay if you add more children ($5/month each), billed through Google Play, and you can cancel anytime with no lock-in.
